Workshop at the Thiebaud house!
Sunday, July 7th at 1:00pm.
Make this charming “housewife” aka sewing kit. This style sewing kit was quite popular with soldiers during the Civil War and we’re affectionately called “housewife”, having been made by their wives from scraps left over from sewing for the family.
Laid out, there are little pockets to hold swatches of fabric, buttons, thread, pins and needles. When rolled up it would fit in the palm of your hand.
Kits will be already cut and ready for sewing. You may hand sew or use a sewing machine. Bring your own sewing basket if you have one, to make the sewing easier.
Instruction by Sydney Womack, a very talented seamstress who sews beautiful clothing for reenacting.
Rachel Ellenson will be preparing tea and goodies to add to the pleasure of the afternoon.
$25 includes all materials for the described workshop. Must prepay and register.
