The society has collected with a vision for the future by preserving a wide range of artifacts and documents that relay the county’s unique past. The historical society owns and operates two museums and the Thiebaud Farmstead, just west of Vevay.

Being a member has it perks, more so when you volunteer! We are always looking for members who will also volunteer. Just like at home, there are always tasks that need completed, ranging from grounds maintenance to housekeeping to baking for events, possibly even participating in one of our events. Our youngest volunteer is now 13, and he's a 10 year veteran! You can view some of the activities that our members and volunteers participate in, such as plays, Conservators' Holiday, even volunteering at other historic sites, at the bottom of this page.
Becoming a member of the Switzerland County Historical Society has several benefits, including

  • Free admission to the museums
  • Gift shop discount
  • Annual picnic
  • Conservators' Holiday
  • Quarterly programs
  • Newsletters and annual yearbook
  • Volunteer opportunities
    .... and more.

Membership levels are named for notable figures in Switzerland County History. Annual memberships are available at the individual level and for families living at the same address as well as Business memberships.  Memberships levels can be found - and purchased -   here .
